Set five years after the 1957 Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England, Atomfall follows the immersive story of a mysterious amnesiac finding themselves lost in a picturesque, yet dangerous English countryside - precisely, in a quarantine zone established in the Lake District in Cumbria.
The Atomfall video game is a masterfully crafted blend of survival and action RPG. It’s a thrilling, single-player, narrative-driven adventure played from a first-person perspective, telling a fictional version of a real-world event - the worst nuclear accident in the United Kingdom’s history. The game is set in an alternate history 1960s’ open world, full of science-fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences.
Survival and exploration
Driven by the overwhelming need to discover the mystery of their identity, the main protagonist of Atomfall will soon find themselves doing everything and anything to survive in once peaceful Northern England. From gathering resources and supplies, through crafting various items and weapons, all the way to engaging in desperate combat against both human and non-human enemies - they will confront not only physical threats, but the truth about themselves, their past and future.
Explore the intricate lore full of original characters and parties, including cults and rogue government agencies. Complete various objectives, make decisions and face their consequences. Travel across the dangerous quarantine zone with its cult-controlled ruins, nuclear bunkers, mysterious caves, and other hazardous areas.
