Large roster

If you enjoy mastering every character in fighting games, Mortal Kombat XL will have you playing for a long time! MKXL has a roster of 33 characters. Many old friends and nemeses return for another swing at victory. New fighters come to defend or threaten the Earthrealm, some of them inspired to fight by their legendary parents. And then there are beings and characters straight of nightmares, like Leatherface or Xenomorph.

Variations

Each of the fighters present has three variations emphasising their signature qualities. Each variation has its own moveset for you to master, and each plays in a wildly different way from the other two. It's as if you had three times as many characters to play with! Pick a teleporting Raiden, or a master of lightning. Make Scorpion remember his mastery of Ninjutsu, or use his infernal powers.

Violent spectacle

Skins, artwork, secondary Fatalities and more wait for you in the dark, damp Krypts where warriors of legend lie restlessly.

Faction war

Join a faction and take part in an online ongoing war for domination against other players. There are five faction for your to throw your lot with, and each provides meaty rewards to make your engagement worthwhile. Add your blade and fist to the ranks of Lin Kuei clan's assassins. Protect the Earth with the White Lotus Society. Meet with Sonya and Jax in Special Forces. Earn a buck with Black Dragon mercenaries. Join Quan Chi's sect, the Brotherhood of Shadow. Whichever you pick, the fight will be brutal, and the spoils will go only to the victor.
