Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol (PC) Steam Key

A classic retro-styled 16bit game, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, is a single-player action-adventure run and gun type of game developed by LucasArts and published in 1993, followed by its sequel, Ghoul Patrol in 1994.

In 2021 the games port were developed by DotEmu to allow players on other platforms to enjoy both the original classic and its sequel. The rescue of the protagonists' neighbors and liberation of their town from the inevitable threat of the undead foes are both games' main objectives. 

The game has gradually found its space in the hearts of players as it allows them to go back to arcade roots with its gameplay.

The rerelease of both of these arcade classics does not change many aspects in the gameplay perspective. However, it has some new quality of life changes, such as savepoints.

The main protagonists in this series, Zeke and Julie, have to take matters into their own hands in this shooter classic if they, and the player, are to survive. To progress further into the game, the player has to navigate through various locations and shoot their way through zombies crawling all around. Thank heavens, the players have a small arsenal of weapons at their disposal, ranging from guns and crossbows to other means of zombie mass destruction.

Game modes

This old-school arcade game in the horror genre is a classic single-player experience in which the player has to carefully manage the health and equipment of the character they play. Nonetheless, the game allows for a local co-op mode, as there are two main characters. Whether the player wishes to experience the game solo or with a partner is entirely up to them.

Story

As in every horror genre piece of work regarding zombies, there is someone behind the making of those vicious creatures, and this game is no exception. Behind the creation of those monsters is a mad scientist, Dr Tongue. Having built his undead army, he later unleashes it from his castle in a nearby town to terrorize it.

After witnessing ferocious beasts in action, Zeke and Julie decide to take a stand and work their way through the undead hordes with an impressive arsenal of weaponry. Inevitably, protagonists will have to face the mad scientist himself, but how can they stop his evil plans from coming to fruition, as they are only two people facing a whole army...
